Psychology Study Programme, University of Kragujevac

The Psychology Study Programme in Kragujevac was accredited in 2017, as a jointly carried out programme of study including different Faculties of the University of Kragujevac.

The following programmes are currently organised within the University:

  • Bachelor’s degree studies – 4 years (8 semesters, 240 ECTS) – conferred degree: BA in Psychology
  • Master’s degree studies – 1 year (2 semesters, 60 ECTS) – conferred degree: MA in Psychology

The studies are organised in such a way as to provide the fundamentals of Psychology in the first three years, whereas in later years students specialise in specific fields via different modules. Such a study format allows students to acquire basic theoretical knowledge, learn basic methods of psychological research and statistical procedures, become familiar with the analysis of psychological phenomena from different theoretical perspectives and psychological branches, but also to gain practice and necessary profiling in psychology fields, for which there is a need in the region and beyond.

During the first three years of study, students take up core courses in the field of psychology and borderline disciplines, as well as courses through which they will gain basic academic skills (digital competences, academic writing, performing statistical analyses etc). In Year 4, students choose between three modules and thus specific areas of study: Psychology in Education, Clinical Psychology and Organisational Psychology. Within the chosen module, students complete the required number of hours and activities through professional training in appropriate fields and institutions (educational, health and social institutions, and/or companies).

“Enhancing digital and psychological resilience through peer networking in the online environment in times of crises – DigiPsyRes” ERASMUS+ project (2021-2024): 2021-1-RS01-KA220-HED-000032204
The project aims to address the growing need for students’ psycho-social support by enhancing students’ digital and psychological resilience through peer networking in the online environment. Since contacting professional services for psychological counselling is physically more difficult in the time of crisis, there is a significant potential for establishing horizontal psycho-social support for students. The project will carry out training programmes for student mentors, enabling them to provide initial support for maintaining and improving the mental health of students. The final aim is to establish university networks for horizontal and professional psychological support.
