The Institute of Psychology (nowadays at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade) was founded in 1962, after initiatives of respectable professors Borislav Stevanović and Nikola Rot. Over the years the Institute managed to acquire recognized reputation, primarily in the fields of developmental and pedagogical psychology, and recently in the field if psychology of individual differences. Institute’s reputation and contribution to scientific and professional spheres are apparent in a vast number of national and international research projects realized at the Institute (over 90) and fruitful collaboration with various national and international institutions and universities. Currently it employs nine researchers.
Furthermore, the Institute is also an academic publishing house with more than 50 academic monographs published. For more than two decades the Institute has been publishing the Psihološka istraživanja journal which publishes academic articles in both Serbian and English. In collaboration with The Laboratory for Experimental Psychology the Institute is the organizer of the oldest national scientific conference in the field of psychology, called Empirical Studies in Psychology conference, which has become international over time. Institute is also a co-organizer of the international conference “Psychology and Music – Interdisciplinary Encounters”.

The conference Empirical Studies in Psychology is organized by the Laboratory for experimental psychology and Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of philosophy, University of Belgrade.
Every year, more than 200 participants present their empirical studies in all fields of psychology. Over the years, ESP has been transformed from the national into international conference where well-known international experts give keynote lectures. Abstracts from the Conference are published in the Book of Abstracts, while Proceedings from the conference are published in Proceedings Book.
This year the conference takes place from 31st of March until the 2nd of April. After three years of online format, we are happy that ESP 2023 will take place at the Faculty of Philosophy. University of Belgrade, as it was regular before the pandemics.

The Inclusive Education Network of the European Educational Research Association (EERA) and the Faculty of Philosophy University of Belgrade, with the support of Centre for the promotion of science, Škograd research centre and Educational Research Association of Serbia organize the summer school “Inclusive approaches to educational research” for PhD students and early career researchers. It will be held 12-14 July 2023 at the Faculty of Philosophy. It will offer opportunities for young researchers in the field of education to share and discuss research ideas, plans and/ or proposals in small groups and to receive feedback from international researchers, to participate in the keynote lectures, workshops, hands-on activities and field trips/site visits to places developed through community-based participatory research.
In the year when we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Serbian Psychological Society, we have a great pleasure to organize the European Semester of Psychology, named New Horizons of Psychology as science and practice.
